Literally. You absolutely MUST walk up to him and hear his little speech or he either bugs out and becomes completely invincible forever (original) or he merely STAYS invincible forever until you walk up to him and hear his little speech (this version).

In this game I have to listen to pointless banter, thereby nulling my chance of just sneakfully one-shotting the boss now and being done with it, whereas in, say, SMT3 I must brave HELL in order to get my pointless banter, which I make a beeline for whenever possible.

This. Damn. Game. In the original Mannimarco, after his little speech, is basically a Necromancer with a different and actual name. OOO made him "more challenging", which is code for "gave him brokenly powerful stuff, a fully scripted AI, and more spells that break more PC rules than anyone player can shake a stick at. And shoes".

...Only 1 day and I'm already reminiscing for the relative lack of BS of an Atlus game. Lucifer help me through this...
