Let's play Oblivion 187: The many ways in which to fail
You know, if I could have just shot Mannimarco before having him rant like a watered-down Saturday morning cartoon villain all of this could have been avoided.
Okay, so the fight against Mannimarco. In the original, this guy would usually summon whatever leveled creature he had, pulled out his dagger and started wailing as if age-old mages are knows for their upper body strength. In this game, he summons three minions to kill me - please note that I'm limited to 1 summon at a time, and Ethereals cannot be summoned at all normally - and once I'm low enough on health he casts the master level Kill spell, which is a Drain Health insta-kill spell that drains and damages the fatigue of the user. Guess what Mannimarco doesn't need.
As for killing him, I imagine hitting him with an enchanted weapon would be a good idea, since Mannimarco is so fond of Dispel, which also removes his allies from the battle. Failing that I think he's immune to normal weapons, so without an enchanted weapon (guess what I forgot) you can't hit him normally. If true you'll need some magic, since sneak attacks are a worthy sacrifice for his epic speech, or so thought the developers, which he often reflects. With no skill in Destruction or useful spells you'll need to use Drain Health, like I did, except that doesn't work either for reasons you'll see in the next video. You might be able to drop him to the ground with Damage Fatigue spells, since his Kill spell SHOULD drain and damage it as well, but since he's an overpowered mage he doesn't use his fatigue at all and he's likely to have several spare tanks of it worth. Still, it might work.
As for defending, I didn't even try Silence, since that never works on anyone worth a damn and I seriously doubt Mannimarco is any different. Jumping out of his little cage makes you outright invulnerable to all of his attacks, since despite the gather sizeable holes the cage is completely solid, although that means you can't attack either. Stand on a piece of scenery and snipe him? Nope, the cage's hitbox won't allow it, and neither will the EPIC sidestepping AI (everyone in this game is a giant enemy crab, it would seem). Paralyse also doesn't work; he's magically immune to it. As in I paralysed him and he dispelled it while still paralysed. I suppose resist magic would be a good spell effect to have active, but somehow I suspect that he also has a target dispel effect, so buffing won't be useful.
And that's all I really know. Stay tuned for the extremely embarrassing and anti-climactic conclusion to this bitchfight of back-and-forth BS. I assure you, it will be lame as hell, and not in a funny way.
