Our party is running scared after two waves of Zhentarim assassins were sent to our guest quarters in the outpost, so we head straight to the main gate - and find nothing but a platoon of raw recruits standing between us and freedom. (Was the Commandant sleeping off dinner after ordering our execution, or something?)
We return to Phlan and find that Cadorna has been denounced as a traitor (and has presumably run off to join forces with "The Boss"). The town council wants us to capture Stojanow Gate right away - so why are we heading to Valhigen Graveyard first?
