1943 is a rather odd top-down shooter in that it's set during World War 2, not exactly a major time-period for shooters (unless we count first-person shooters, which we're not). It's a pretty fun game, I think I remember playing it in the Arcade and not on the NES but I might be wrong about that. In any case, it was a fun trip down shooter lane, where the air is always full of enemies and the enemies always explode gloriously.
