The game begins with Claire Redfield raiding an Umbrella Corporation facility in Paris in search of her brother,
Chris. During the infiltration she is captured and imprisoned on Rockfort Island in the Southern Hemisphere.
Soon after arriving she is knocked unconscious. After coming to, she is freed by Umbrella security guard
Rodrigo Juan Raval who releases her from her cell in the aftermath of a T-virus outbreak on the island.
