S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat is what I best can describe as Shadow of Chernobyl - but a bit better. The maps are bigger, they feel more dynamic and lived in and there is a cool as heck emission gimmick that makes survival that much harder.

Immersive as not much else I have played, Call of Pripyat pulls you in and keeps you there, in it's engrossing world and a desire to see if you can figure out the secrets and mysteries of this dreadful place.

While not truly an open world sandbox, it does do a lot right that makes the world feel alive with both challenges and rewards around the corner.
