Star Trek: Armada II is a real-time strategy game developed by Mad Doc Software and published by Activision. It is the sequel to the original Star Trek: Armada, and was originally released on November 12, 2001.

The game is set six months after the event of the original Star Trek: Armada. The Borg have once more appeared in the Alpha Quadrant, apparently with the help of a new kind of transwarp technology. It is up to the faction of the quadrant to stop them.

In addition to the United Federation of Planets, Klingon Empire, Romulan Star Empire, and Borg collective - which were playable in the first game - Star Trek: Armada II also features the Cardassian Union as well as Species 8472, an alien species from a parallel universe introduced in Star Trek: Voyager.

Many of the game's other aspects have been expanded as well: there are two new resources (metal and latinum), trade, new technologies to research, and new ships types with new abilities. Also new is the addition of warp travel to transverse maps quickly, as well as maps extending up and down, making space not just two-dimensional.

Star Trek: Armada II received mixed to positive reviews. Critics lauded the presentation, accessibility, and faithfulness to the source material, but were critical of the AI, similarities to the first game, and lack of depth.
