StarBreak gameplay consists of manifesting yourself as one of several characters, then entering a hub where you can buy stuff using your persistent credit and jump into one of many portals to join in games. Then you all blast your way through sci-fi platforming action, killing bosses, picking up loot (each player gets their own) and falling onto spikes a lot.
Since this is a roguelite/roguelike, death is permanent - you lose your character progression, but getting back up to speed is fast. New players will first get a solo tutorial to complete before appearing in the StarBreak hub.
Levels are procedurally generated and set up to have up to 100 players all playing at once. It's possible to play alone or in small groups but the levels can get very difficult!
