The next world for our plumber hero to explore is the red hot reaches of Lethal Lava Land. Watch your step as you traverse an ocean of hot lava and fire. Horned creatures, known as Bullies, will try to push you into the lava, so push them into the lava to defeat them. Use certain objects floating in the burning sea to make your way to an arena in the northern section. There, you'll encounter a Big Bully. These big bruisers will try to push you into the lava, so knock him into the lava to obtain your first power star of this world. The second star involves fighting more Bullies on a platform not too far from the place where you fought the first Big Bully. Deal with the 3 smaller Bullies to make another Big Bully appear. Tackle him the same way to make another power star yours. A third star resides over on the western side of the level with a giant sliding picture puzzle of Bowser. Collect all 8 red coins on the puzzle, being wary of the moving tiles and claim the star that appears. By this point, Mario has enough stars to not only open the next big star door, but also to gain a hint about pounding two special pillars in the castle. A certain underwater pathway in the basement leads to two pillars jutting out of the water. Ground pound them down to see what happens...
