Let's Play Super Mario World - Part 9: The Plains Hold Many Secrets
Kind of a sloppy recording, this one...my emulator was lagging for some reason, and I'm not really sure why. In any case, though, this is the part where I start taking the alternate routes through the game and getting all those secret exits that I skipped the first time around.
Here, I get the secret exit of Donut Plains 1, which leads me to Donut Secret 1, another underwater stage. Donut Secret 1 has a normal exit leading to Donut Ghost House (pointless to get if you're not trying to find every goal to complete the game) and a secret exit leading to Donut Secret House, the only "secret" ghost house in the game. Donut Secret House *also* has two exits; the secret exit leads to the first Star Road warp...but it's guarded by the horrible, deadly, and powerful (catch the sarcasm) Big Boo Boss! The normal exit leads onward to Donut Secret 2, a sort of ice cave. It's a fairly unique stage, but it has no secret exit; beating it just leads you back to Donut Plains 3. The final secret here is the secret exit of Donut Ghost House, accessed by flying up onto the roof at the beginning with a cape. It leads to Top Secret Area, which is basically a one-screen, side-exit-enabled level with some powerup blocks. If this game wasn't easy enough, you can come here to fill up on Fire Flowers or capes and, if you like, get a Yoshi. (You can even get 1-Ups if you come here when you already have a Yoshi, although there are much quicker methods of obtaining lives.)
Well, that's Donut Plains covered...next time, I'll go through Vanilla Dome and get all the stuff I missed in there.
