Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall - Part 17 - Ricky Finds the Pretty Ladies!
After the whole quest objective to deliver a letter that turned out to be rather easy, we get told to deliver a cloak by someone else in Wayrest. Of course it is a trap, I was pretty much expecting that based on this game's love of traps.
Pretty much the goal is to take the dress to a lord, which we do, with the only problem being that when he puts on the robe a tearing sound is heard and the fabric of reality is broken. Next thing I know, we have guards yelling at me that I murdered the lord; I have to go on yet another massacre. But the guards are being assisted by pretty ladies that like to laugh at Ricky a lot for some reason. They are called Daedra Seducers and they mostly stand there until you hit them, when they decide to fly after you and strip of their clothing. Somehow Succubi and Guards have decided to team up. I also am questioning if the reason people like the game is due to this random excessive nudity.
We then decide to head back to Wayrest, where I can try to reach the Palace and demand that I get my reward, trap or not. Of course, this time around I am injured from all the crazy combat, so I can't exactly do my normal dropping method. Plus, I completely botch the climb because the game decides it hates me.
Next thing I know an army of Guards, Mages, and a random Zombie appear to arrest me once more. The forces of good and evil have apparently decided to work together to take me down. Of course, the Zombie here is actually a courier that also is trying to murder me. Upon his death, we see a note (that once again doesn't go in my inventory, because this game is totally confusing on how it manages this important information) to go to the Scourg Barrow to talk to the King of Worms. I am glad I am recording this series, as that means that even though I had forgotten who the King of Worms was, I have seen that name while uploading all these parts and even named an Episode after that area. We just need to go back to the Necromancer area!
We also massacre a large number of guards, both outside the town and then the assassins that try to kill me while I sleep. Oh, then I try to ask for directions only to steal from someone, which results in another massacre. Unlike the others, we are actually surviving these as well! Returning to the palace, nobody tries to stop me surprisingly, and we get a completely pointless and useless amulet. Random quest object that does nothing obtained!
I hate the design of Wayrest. Due to the whole massive park thing in the middle, we have to travel lengthy distances around the edge to reach anything of interest. Upon resting, a fog comes in that makes this even more of a difficult task. I decide just to go to a more convenient city, specifically Daggerfall.
Getting there, we are given yet another letter, but this one is in our inventory and therefore will be much easier to remember. Our massacres of the random guardsmen and pretty ladies has brought the attention of an assassination guild known as the Dark Brotherhood, who wishes to speak to us. You know you are killing a lot of people when the secret club that worships the death of important people takes notice.
In any event, the length of this video mostly showcases me reading books to go from 55 to go to the much more manageable 47. Slowly but surely, we shall get through all the lore we find! Books mostly include terrible histories of stuff, though we also get a random story that teaches us why cannibalism of vegetarians is okay.
Eventually I get worn out from reading a bunch of tales and note that going any further would make it into two parts, so I decide to stop at 47 books to go. I also have written a handy notepad file just to remember what books we have read. All of this stuff is conveniently easier to do when you are recording it all!
