Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall - Part 13 - Ricky Gets A Cool Shirt
We return to the Shedungent of Wrothgaria, home of insane Grandma and a bunch of naked dudes. Of course, we killed everyone in a violent and random massacre. Instead of naked guys, now we are facing off against Terminator robots everywhere, apparently reconstructed from the naked party guests I killed earlier. We also see some Sorcerers, people with giant hammers and strong armor, who are perhaps the most un-sorcerery people I have ever seen.
Wandering around aimlessly, we also find a magical bracelet that gives us the ability to have people like us a lot. Seriously, this one bracelet has more power in it than practically everything from Arena, having the ability to go from the lower 50s to 98 or so. The only real downside is that it seems totally random what we get and that it resets when we travel from place to place, meaning we often need to unequip and reequip if we want to get the best numbers. While in Arena Personality was pretty useless, here it might just be what I need to get my Ebony Dai-Katana on a discount!
This trek turns out to be much easier than the last attempt, mainly due to the fact that there are no Liches guarding Grandma, but also because of an increase of Terminators over Battlemages and me not getting as lost. We find Grandma pretty quickly and get her to yell at me. Hopefully this will keep the quest in the game's memory this time, since I swear we got her to yell at me before.
Returning back to Daggerfall with triumph this time around, we make our way to the queen's chambers, where we get praised for finding Grandma and get given a shirt. This isn't just any shirt though! It is one that can potentially help us if we decide to communicate with dragons in the future. Maybe we can apologize for murdering their babies in the earlier dungeon, I am sure they will understand. We also have learned this info through identifying my various random goods, at least we don't need to identify materials like in Arena.
We also find in our shop exploration a black Dai-Katana. Getting my hopes up, it turns out to be a Mithril Dai-Katana, which doesn't make much sense at all because Mithril is supposed to be green. At least, that was the color code in Arena, but it seems a lot of the upper tier swords are black here. Well, at least we have something moderately decent, though I still want my Ebony Dai-Katana.
We return to the palace and try to figure out exactly what we are supposed to do now. We bumble into one of the other nobles and he orders us to go kill some Orc Priestess. I have no idea what is and isn't part of the plot anymore, so I get ready to charge blindly into another dungeon.
