Here's what happens if you aren't allowed to straight away fight Plant 42: Rebecca would come in, not know what to do, and Chris would hand her the book which talks about how you're supposed to poison Plant 42 by it's roots. From there, Rebecca would have to manually create the Toxin, and apply it to the roots of the Plant, which are all the way back at the Aqua Ring. This takes at least 10 minutes and you STILL have to fight Plant 42 as Normal.
