Let's Play Trine 2 DLC the Goblin Menace Part 1: Better have some skill.
Cuz having those level 4 spells is REALLY recommended.
(Note, sorry for the lack of commentary. It'll be like this for the next two episodes! However, you can still enjoy the DLC's awesomeness without me... in fact it might even be better without me nagging! :D)
This DLC is 15% off now! Get it! IT's grrrrrrreat! And filled with Goblins and mummies and sandworms and magic! And an awesome seige! :3 And... metric fuckloads of experience so you have the skillpoints (21) to buy the new skills!
So, the DLC brings... new enemies, beauitful new graphics and bla blah.
The big deal is the 6 new skills. 3 level 3 skills and 3 level FOUR skills! Newness!
Level FOUR skills, however, require that you unlock 4 level THREE skills first. So it'll take a while to get them. But they are awesome.
Monster Cage (3 need Monster Levitate)): Simply, halts a monster. Makes Amadeus a little more self-sufficient!
Magnetise (4): Makes metal (read, conjured) things magnetic, causing them to glue to other metal things.
Scare Crow (3 need Stealth first): Distracts enemies. Good if you suck at dodging.
Low Gravity Field (4): Things go higher, slower and faster inside these. Only one can exist at once and is deployed with an arrow!
Magnetic Shield (3 need Fire Sword first): Attract metal stuff, then blast it away! Similar to his previous ability to carry things!
Kite Shield (4): Slowly hover and fly. Great!
Amadeus gets the bad stuff. His skills are terrible. His magnetise is only useful if there's other metal stuff (or you need a strudy tower). Monster Cage is useless because UNLESS you're doing Co-Op. Else you're too busy switching to Zoya or Pontius.
Pontius' powers are swag. Magne-shield allows you to shoot metal squares and planks, while Kite Shield allows you to fly greatdistances and more easily traverse holes!
Zoya gets the best. I dunno about Scare Crow, but Low-G is AWESOME. Just plop it down, insert conjured Plank and watch it FLOAT. Basically you get your powers of flight from the first back. The orb's not too bit and also not too small! It's everything you will ever need... mostly.
The best, however, if when you combine the new stuff and mess around. The result will be awesome.
The DLC also uses water physics a LOT more. Filling pools with water, taking care of fires... a lot cooler than watering plants. I think.
PS: YES! you DO get to use these skills in the original game! :D
