Challenge Accepted DoD Episode 2: The Recursive Curse of Fraps.
Current Challenger: JoeyWood82
Challenge:
Clockwork Knight
Rogue Scientist
Tinkering
Alchemy
Wandcrafting
Smithing
Unarmed
Guess what. 2:32 hours of footage without commentary because I forgot to turn that option back on on Fraps.
I. Hate. You. Fraps.
Suggestion for Fraps: Default Settings. When closed and restarted, THESE settings are used, instead of saving the last used settings. To boot, Fraps informs you of this feature every time settings are changed.
Why? Because I'm really fucking pissed, that's why.
Two DoD videos and three videos of Trine 2 DLC ruined by Fraps not recording any of my commentary.
That being said, it just proves the only mistakes a computer makes are caused by people. In that regard, I'm happy computers can almost never be directly blamed!
Anyway, during some mod-testing (MY mods! :3) I somehow broke the save and restarted. In this process, I decided to lay down some rules for Challenge Accepted for Dungeons of Dredmor:
- Perma Death on by DEFAULT.
- Default difficulty is Easy.
- No restarting unless:
- Incorrect Skills.
- Problems I cannot control (save issues, mods going weird)
- No do-overs with poor beginnings either.
- If the end is reached, a Challenge is Mastered.
- If death is attained (at a good level, double digits, depending on suggestor/difficutly?) a Challenge is Passed. (It IS a roguelike. Death is fun!)
- If death is gotten via stupidity, carelessness, or early on, a Challenge if Failed.
- The Suggestor can suggest rules! Like: No Disarming traps, no melee on animals, no shields, take the first stairs, etc.!
