Let's Play Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion #08: Prodding the Post-game Content
While we've completed the main game - along with the super secret boss that I apparently unlocked by ripping up every document save the last one - you'd think that we're done with the game, but no. Not only is there one more power-up to collect, there's also the matter of the DLC that we couldn't access until this point: the Infinite Express. Less a place for more plot and more a train of infinite carriages of increasing difficulty, it's here that you to test your skill and unlock sweet new hats that make us look even MORE spiffy.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion may have been short, but it was a joy to play through. The gameplay was intutive, the controls responsive and the graphical style very cute and whimsical. The music was also great and while some aspects of the plot appeared to be little more than excuses to reference old memes that I would've had no chance at getting, the overall story achieved what it set out to do: be very, very silly. The ultimate strength of the game is that it never takes itself seriously, something that made the instances of great tonal shift all the more pronounced. I'd of wanted the game to be longer, but doing so would've risked it outstaying it's welcome. If you want something well made and silly that you can breeze through in an afternoon, you could do far worse than this game.
So, what's next? I think it's time to play something else I've never played before AND another game that uses a controller. As for the other clues, let's just say that I'm barely into it and already I'm singing its praises.
See you next let's play!
