Let’s Play Ultima IX #53: This Court is Barking Mad
165It’s safe to say that Yew has some pretty serious problems, what with people suing one another for crimes that aren’t even really crimes and the courts handing out disproportionately harsh punishments to those inevitably found guilty. There’s no justice to be found here, which makes the fact that Raven is apparently about to be tried for murder a worrying prospect. Everyone has a different idea of what she’s accused of – most of them don’t even get her name right – but nearly everyone is united in their call to see her face ‘justice’, something we have to try and stop if we can.
The key word here is ‘if’.
There’s still quite a lot of Yew to see before we go and try to stop Raven’s trial, including a puzzle I originally overlooked that was cleverly hidden as a polite request. After that, we’ll check in with the shops, listen to the local gossip in the tavern and explore about on the ground level some more. If we’re lucky, we’ll encounter our old companion Jaana who surely hasn’t been corrupted by the virtues to the point that she now serves in the wyrmguard.
