Let's Play Unpacking #03: Never Compromise on who you are
86Each day in our lives is an unknown quantity. What we'll do, who we'll meet and what we'll say are just a few of the many, MANY things that make those twenty four hours what they are. One of those things is taking risks and they are both very important and very dangerous. A life without risk is a life laden with regret, but not all risks pay off. How do you know which ones to take?
You don't.
Love is one of the greatest risks of them all. Pledging your heart, your soul, your very everything to another is to be vulnerable and trusting in ways that are hard to describe. You don't know if they feel the same or if they'll continue to as time goes on, but many are the things people would give up for a chance at love.
If there's one piece of advice I would give you about love, it's this: Love is about compromise, but never compromise on who you are. Those core things that make you you are what make you unique. If someone tells you to either give up your true self or them, walk away. There will be other people, other loves, but there is only one you.
