If you're a fan of more purist roguelike play, where the level of punishment for mistakes can be extremely steep, you may dig the challenge of Vagante. A bit more of concern is that the level of lighting can make already fine details like triggers for traps very difficult to see and that often makes for instantly fatal results. This is of particular concern if you plan to play handheld, I'd think it could border on unplayable as you struggle to see what will lead to your doom. Online multiplayer is enabled, so you may be able to attack it with some help at least.
