With one root down we go looking for the next one, hidden away beneath the fighting pit we briefly visited last chapter. Quite a few detours slow down our progress, from playing deliverypig for the leatherworker in Grackle to defending a native from some ruthless bandits. All in a day's work, really; we're probably going to need the good karma at the end of this. And wouldn't you know it, Essex turns up again as we take out the second root. Funny how we keep bumping into each other, isn't it?

Amidst all this, our pal Joe has a request: find and kill the wraith cursing him in its nest. For all the man has helped us withstand, I think it'd be wrong not to lend a hand.
