Let's Play Xuan Yuan 7 Part 048: So...is the little girl bait, or..?
I think part of the problem is that I read about this game before playing it and know it has a fairly short playtime and I strongly suspect it is almost over. So the normal approach of "hit a tough spot, get better at the core gameplay and advance" isn't kicking in as I don't want to put in the energy to "get good" and then have the game immediately end.
I keep comparing the game to Nioh (specifically Nioh 2 since I am playing concurrently). That game is supposed to be hard, but you always feel like you have the tools to win even if the skill requirement is high. The difficulty spikes in this game are more like playing a NES platformer where the jumping is wonky and suddenly you have to do a bunch of jumps. Not like a tough section of Super Mario Brothers, but more like any section of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.
