Don't get me wrong; being mean to children is something that people should be looked down upon, especially if that ends up hurting the kids then or later on. However, kids need to learn that not everything can go their way so they don't become snobby and potentially become useless leeches after they were supposed to grow up into adults. Teach them young, as they say.
