Let's Play Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone PT2 - Through the Jaws of The Wolf
What the hell, YouTube? Making me have to split this up...
In this episode, I start Battlefield 2. Yggdra and Milanor find themselves at the Jaws of The Wolf, a barren passageway leading to the Orlando Plains. Imperial force presence is lax, so Milanor thinks it a good opportunity to move past the enemy. However, mercenaries hired by Bronquia are afoot. Turns out that they're a gang Milanor had fought previously, shortly before finding Yggdra.
We gotta bust through them and their inept leader, Inzaghi!
Now's a good time to explain the two charaters we have in greater depth. First, Milanor!
Milanor, the Silver Wolf, is one of the two main characters of this game, and the ONLY character who's available in every battlefield. Strong, skilled, laid back, and dependable, Milanor is all sorts of amazing. He's a Stray Thief, a modified version of the Bandit class. He's good on the wasteland, immune to the Stone status, and is also the only character who can steal items. His stats are very well rounded, though his ATK, TEC, and LUK shine best. Try not to use him so much that he eats up MVPs, though.
On the other side is Yggdra, Princess of Fantisinia, who's the other main character of the game. She's your typical princess in RPGs; naїve, inexperienced, and oblivious to the blights of the world, though her will to aid her people is unwavering. She's a Sword Maiden, a modified version of the Valkyrie class. She's great on forts and against Golems and her attacks have a Holy element applied to them, but she's weak to the Dark element. She can use the Revolution effect to aid her in battle as well as a few other things later on. Right now, her stats are lacking with no general attacking strength and low LUK, but as Yggdra grows, she becomes a far deadlier unit to oppose. You just have to work for it.
Battlefield 2 expands on what you learned in Battlefield 1 as well as introduces the Passive/Aggressive and Rage/MAX features in battle.
- Going Passive drops your Battle Affinity 2 levels, but gradually raises your Skill Gauge. Right now, Passive has no real use except to set others up to go Aggressive.
- Going Aggressive spikes your Battle Affinity by 2 levels at the cost of gradually lowering your Skill Gauge. Also, your weapon will take on the character's element, if they have one(e.g. Yggdra's sword will have a Holy element to it).
Enemies have their way of raising attack, too: the Rage Rate.
- As the fight goes on, their Rage Rate will fill. At Rage level, their Battle Affinity rises by 1 level and their weapon will take on the character's element, if they have one.
- At MAX level, their Battle Affinity rises by 2 levels, though they lose their elemental attack. If possible, they will use their card skill at this point and the gauge will then reset.
