Let's Play Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone PT45 - Clash Against the Catholic Church
Subtitled: Who the Fuck is This Decepticon?
Haaa, you think you're ready to take on the rest of this game? Well FUCK YOU. In this episode, we're into Battlefield 32, which is located in St. Meriata Diocese. Mardym has reinforced his side with more of the Juvelon sect and has even ensured the leader, Cardinal Juvelon, that victory is certain, though he's rather smug and deceptive about it. Juvelon himself is a nervous wreck and has a one-trick-pony Assassin named Amareus to do his bidding.
Just like the Catholic Church.
Opinion is rather high that Battlefield 32 is one of the hardest maps in the game, if not one of the more annoying ones. Mardym has a bunch of units rolled out and two Griffon Riders south of you. They're not exactly harmless, but are dispatched without too much of a problem. Mardym himself is still rather tough, but nothing too special. The Skeletons are a total non-issue, as the time is fixed at Noon and therefore they're entitely harmless(though I remember that not being the case in the GBA version).
Juvelon and his Meriants are a bit different. Aside from his useless Skeleton shields, his goons carry with them Medusa Eye, a card that inflicts Stone, which completely petrifies the afflicted and doesn't wear off, effectively disabling them for the whole map. GBA players have the unfortunate side effect in that they cannot pass through petrified units. The PSP version fixes this, but you'll end up running short of firepower and regardless of the version, if you're blocked by something you can't pass, you'll have to restart the map.
Milanor, Gordon, and Pamela all void Stone naturally, so you're not TOTALLY hopeless(though GBA users are SOL since they can't get Pamela and the PSP users that do have Pamela should be reminded that staves are weak to bows, meaning she'll usually lose to Amareus). Units with 4 GEN void Stone from everyone except Amareus, who would need 6 GEN to void it from her. Amareus can be ganged upon and brought down with a joint Milanor/Gordon effort. Juvelon is a huge joke that voids Holy with his Meria Bible, but he still has 4 GEN and 5 LUK, so he's not totally worthless.
There are two stat up fruits lying around and the house to the south is especially important if you have the Stardust Hourglass and Lost Material. You'll also need 25 REP to use them. The resulting item is... uh... with a name like that, I dunno what it is, but it's supposed to develop into something great for Milanor. PSP users can also trade in the Four-Leaf Clover and the Glitter Ashes for another item.
Once Juvelon dies and the Catholic Church writhes, it's time for Yggdra to enter the Holy Land ...by herself. Well, I'm sure nothing could go wrong now...
