So that right there is You Are Empty. It's certainly a game that's clearly unfinished, not very good and just feels like a much older game compared to when it was released with all sorts of design issues but when the game had to be so paired back from its original vision to meet deadlines then it makes sense even if it is tragic. Hilariously bad localization, naffed up weapon stats, samey locations until the endgame and overall feeling like a bargain basement Half Life 2.

But the things it does do well, it does REALLY well - the bleak art style with almost Disney Pixar looking character models, the brooding dark atmosphere and the constant sense that something has gone horribly wrong makes it a game that stands out in my opinion. And it was a thoroughly entertaining romp filled to the brim with laughs and memorable moments that makes it one of my favourite playthroughs - heck I would totally commission a banner of someone drawing chicken boi, frog boi and zappy boi because they were the best bois in the game along with Fireman Sam so we can fondly remember these fellas in the grand scheme of things!

Let's dive deep into the post-apocalyptic world behind the iron curtain, deep in the heart Russia where we witness a twisted world of transhumanism gone wrong. Mutants, monsters and crazies roam the streets and we have to fight our way through it all with our terribly inconsistent shotgun and dodgy molotovs to find out what happened and if we can put a stop to it!
