At its core, Discworld is a point and click adventure game like any other. You come up against obstacles blocking forward progress and have to foil them by whatever means the narrative sets out for this. This can be achieved through dialogue, using a thing you’ve collected on a thing or a combination of the two and while the solution is always there in front of you, it may not seem very obvious at first. This is because you’re thinking about things with Earth-based logic as opposed to Disc-based logic.

The disc has some subtle differences that change the way many things work. Said changes are subtle enough that you won’t notice them until something quite significant occurs that you weren’t expecting. Know that everything works on an internal logic, one that you’ll understand better if you’ve read some of the Discworld books. You don’t need to read any of them to play this game – this game is actually a good introduction to the setting at large – but you do get a little more out of it if you have.
