Let's Try: Lonesome Village (Again)
1Some of you keen-eyed viewers might observe that I have actually played this game before! Sort of! I played an early demo of it forever ago, that concentrated more on demonstrating the dungeon mechanics and not much else.
This experience is very different. The dungeon (tower) is very different, there's people to save and help, and a (very boring) fishing mini-game, because of course there is. Overall: it's cute! There's a lot of adorable poured over this whole game, and it's very obviously made with love. That being said: I found it tedious. The writing needs an editor, the puzzles are .... fine, and the side-quests for people are just fetch quests over and over. Also the fact that you have to swap out your active items boggles the mind. There's no reason not to map things to the available inputs.
I'm not going to say it's a bad game, but I expected something very different from the first demo I played, and I'm a little let down with what I ended up with.
