Okay, so this stinks. Break the one box, then dig your way out.
Run over to the other cell and escape. The sewers is a fairly simple dungeon, if you can call it one. The biggest thing is to watch out for the Shadow-Rat-Thing-Squid-Ews. These guys aren't hard on land. But in water they can be a pain, the moment you see one get on land as quick as you can.

Don't forget to check often with your senses, it'll allow you to see lots of things that you couldn't before, for example, sparkling spots on the ground can be dug up for money/hearts!
