The LG revolution is the latest 4G LTE Android powered Smartphone on the Verizon network. The LG Revolution was launched on the 26th of May and not to go detailed into hardware specs. Comes preloaded with Bing maps, a 1Ghz Snapdragon Processor, 5MP rear camera (records 720P), 1.3MP front camera, 16GB preinstalled microSD, HDMI-out to share content to your HDTV as well as smartshare (DLNA). This is all housed under a 4.3" touch screen.

So what make the LG Revolution different and stand out? We will take a look at it s custom Android 2.2 UI, the camera as well as other features on the device to see how well it fairs.

Android 2.2 Custom UI

The Custom Android 2.2 UI LG uses on the Revolution has some nice additives; such as a new widget tray that slides up from the bottom of the screen to reveal your widgets, shortcuts, folders & wallpaper, you also have your power control features easily accessible through the notification bar. The settings menus is still similar to that of the stock Android, with the addition of a connectivity menu option, which allows you to set your connectivity options for USB as well as HDMI-out and what resolution you would like to select.

Pre-loaded Software & Applications

These include Smartshare, which is a DLNA feature set that allows you to stream content from wireless devices via your LG Revolution . other apps include Amazon kindle app, Blockbuster, Netflix, lets Golf 2, Rock Band, Tune wiki, Rhapsody, Bitbop, City ID, Polaris office, Yahoo News, Twitter for LG, Bing Maps & search, Facebook for LG. Both the Facebook & Twitter LG apps, are similar to their normal counter app counterparts but offer a spec LG flare to their use.

Conclusion

The LG Revolution is solid smartphone with a good camera and intuitive Android custom skin, with the ability to share 4G via Wi-Fi over a hotspot for up to 8 devices. To be honest, not a lot stands out for the LG Revolution, don't get me wrong. The LG revolution is a good device but really doesn't have a wow factor, which might set it back to consumers, because the device works well and can be considered a mid range device with high-end specs
