Wow, That erosion does some insane damage.
You can't let the monster and the hermit clash cause the monster gets insta-staggered, you can't rely on the monster to deal significant damage cause the hermit has heavy blunt resist, you can't ignore the monster and just kill the hermit cause the monster needs to finish it.
The only sollution would be to time the Hermit's stagger with the deaths of the puppets to let the monster deal fatal damage, then you need to have damaged the hermit enough to get it in kill-range for the monster while playing around the mass attacks both of them use.

This went alot better during the realisation.
