A little over a month ago, The Document Foundation He launched v7.2.2 of its office suite to solve a total of 68 bugs. This afternoon, the project has launched LibreOffice 7.2.3, which is the third maintenance update in this series that has come for the same thing, but this time more bugs have been corrected. It may be surprising that the number of patches is increasing at this point, but not so much if we think that with the passage of time more and more users are working with the latest version of LO.
As we read in the release note, in LibreOffice 7.2.3 112 bugs fixed. TDF says it is the second smallest release in the 7.2 family, and it also reminds us that we are facing the most up-to-date series, the one that is aimed at those of us who do not want to wait to try all the functions. For production teams, the project continues to recommend the older series.
LibreOffice 7.2.3 is the second minor release in the series
What remains the same and what we see in all the LibreOffice release notes is the reminder that what they have released is a Community version. That's the label LO gets since the 7.1 series, when they also introduced an Enterprise version with improved support for even on-demand features.
What has changed is something related to support. As of LibreOffice 7.2.3, the office suite is also available for new Macs with Apple Silicon, and you can download the aarch64 version for macOS from this link.
LibreOffice 7.2.3, with all new features and patches, is available for all supported systems from this link. The recommended version for production teams is LibreOffice 7.1.7, and will continue until at least two more point updates of the 7.2 series. In the next few days / weeks, the new packages will appear on most Linux distributions that do not stay in the recommended series for work environments.
