In my case, the KDE version has updates whose added weight reaches almost 3GB of download.
As we already knew, or imagined, Manaro 2021-11-19 has arrived with very important news. A few days ago, in a "Testing" they said that one of the most important changes was that the GNOME edition was going to make the leap to GNOME 41, and that jump has just been made. But it is not the only desktop to make an important leap, since the KDE edition will also go up to Plasma 5.23, that is, to the 25th anniversary edition.
Highlights of Manjaro 2021-11-19
Although the blog entry on Manjaro 2021-11-19 has not been updated at the time of writing this article, those of us who cannot wait to hear the news are linked to the information published two days ago for the Stable-Staging Update of the past day 17:
The kernels have been updated. They remember that 5.13 has already reached the end of its life cycle and that 5.12 has been phased out.
Pipewire has been updated to 0.3.40, which brings better compatibility with Jack.
Gnome 41.1.
After a long time there is a new version of Xorg-Server. 21.1, which brings new features and could break compatibility with Nvidia drivers.
Finally there is the first stable version of LxQt (1.0.0).
Plasma 5.23.3.
KDE Gear 21.08.3.
KDE Frameworks 5.88.
With version 470.86 the Nvidia driver for Keppler cards has been fixed.
Nemo has been rebuilt and other Cinnamon packages have been updated.
Both pacman-mirrors and shiny-mirrors have been updated so that you can generate mirror lists with ease.
Added the RC1 of linux516. So far only the Nvidia 470xx driver is built with this new kernel.
Thunderbird 91.3.1 has been added.
Many Python and Haskell updates have been added.
Other regular mainstream updates.
Right now, Manjaro 2021-11-19 is now available as an update, both in Pamac and from the terminal (sudo pacman -Syu). In the next few hours a new ISO will appear on the project's download page, but it is not yet known if it will be Manjaro 21.2.0 or 21.1.7. Considering the number of changes, it is more likely to be the first.
