Limbo is a dark atmospheric puzzle platformer involving a child who goes to limbo to rescue his sister. The hazards include spiky bits, drowning, traps, other people, and various very nasty critters.

The artistic style is quite unusual, with everything in black and white, and all characters and foreground objects in silhouette against a smoky grey background. But it works very well at conveying an otherworldy oppressive atmosphere.

The puzzles are quite intuitive and use a very satisfying physics engine. I've managed to make progress with only minimal difficulty. Like many pseudo retro games, it doesn't use saves or lives. Instead there are unmarked checkpoints after solving puzzles, so that repetition is unnecessary after you've solved a particular puzzle.
