Having the desire to type your fingers down to the bone ? Choose C++ . Working on a little game Engine on Vulkan and Linux, all written from scratch. Using 5 programs, the Vulkan SDK, glfw a window wrapper, glslang to compile shaders at runtime, physFS - a virtual filesystem and simdjson - an ultrafast json interpreter.
The first milestone is reached and the barebone of the Vulkan red triangle is working. Engine and game files are separated in the repo and you can build on the barebone if you like: https://github.com/ntropy83/tinyGameEngine
