[LinuxPlaying] League Of Legends // PlayOnLinux
Playing windows games on Linux using PlayOnLinux :
League Of Legends
The game run smoothely (haven't done more than 3 matches so far, but never encountered any framerate issue of any kind)
The only issues remaining :
-I haven't been able to access the Riot Shop, thus it's impossible to buy any rune... (you can still buy champions using the champions menu.)
-There seems to be a framerate drop related to the mouse input (ie, when you move the mouse over the screen edges, the framerate drop). Depending on your mouse, you may experience it or not. My best hint : try with another mouse if you can.
-Some icon aren't drawn properly
~~ HOW TO ~~
The installation process is straightforward:
-Launch PlayOnLinux
-Click on Install button
-Search for League Of Legends (tick the 'in testing' option)
-Follow the rest of the instruction (PlayOnLinux will download and install LoL_Installer and wine, install them in a new wineprefix, and give you a shortcut to access the game)
~~ Troubleshooting ~~
If the updater and the launcher works, but anytime you try to launch a game it fails : it's certainly a mater of /etc/hosts , your /etc/hosts should have a line like this :
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain myhostname
(where myhostname is the hostname of your computer, as reported by the 'hostname' command)
OS : Archlinux rolling release ( http://www.archlinux.org )
POL : 4.2.1 ( www.playonlinux.com )
Capture :GLC 0.5.8-4 ( https://github.com/nullkey/glc/wiki )
