Live a livE (SNES) - 07. Wild West Chapter - Wandering - (Sundown) Part 1
With the remake of Live a livE coming out on Switch come July, I'm willing to bet most people didn't even know the game was originally from 1994. Released on the Super Famicom, Live a livE was never localized; and likely never had any plans to surface outside of Japan. However, it garnered a bit of a cult following, thanks to emulation and fans willing to translate the whole game.
Naturally, this is played via emulation with a fan translation patch; which imo, is currently the best way to play Live a livE. This game, is in my opinion; one of the underrated gems of the RPG genre from that era, and is one of the most unique RPGs I've ever played. I highly recommend the original, as well as the remake when it comes out, as it appears they are leaving the unique gameplay in tact, though I will likely also record that to find out.
Sundown's chapter is one of my favorites; mostly because it's a huge parody of spaghetti westerns. But in general, there's less combat and more emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving; this one testing how quickly you can gather key items under a time limit. The RPG elements honestly take a back seat in this chapter, in exchange for swift, quick decision making. And I like that to an extent. Sundown himself is also probably my favorite of the main characters; he doesn't speak much, but his backstory, and character we are given are extremely appealing; in that cliche but fun kinda way.
This game was recorded via Emulation, and using Movavi recorder.
