Live a livE (SNES) - 14. Science Fiction Chapter - Mechanical Heart - (Cube) Part 2
With the remake of Live a livE coming out on Switch come July, I'm willing to bet most people didn't even know the game was originally from 1994. Released on the Super Famicom, Live a livE was never localized; and likely never had any plans to surface outside of Japan. However, it garnered a bit of a cult following, thanks to emulation and fans willing to translate the whole game.
Naturally, this is played via emulation with a fan translation patch; which imo, is currently the best way to play Live a livE. This game, is in my opinion; one of the underrated gems of the RPG genre from that era, and is one of the most unique RPGs I've ever played. I highly recommend the original, as well as the remake when it comes out, as it appears they are leaving the unique gameplay in tact, though I will likely also record that to find out.
And so we arrive at Cube's chapter, the last of the standard ones. Cube's chapter is... different. If I'm being honest, it plays more like a point and click game then anything; since there is no combat, aside from the Captain Square Minigame, the the final boss of the chapter. The majority of it is exploring, puzzle solving, and trying to deduce what the hell is going on... this can lead to situations where figuring that out becomes a problem... but what really sets this chapter into overdrive; is the Behemoth.
Unlike the other chapters, where Game Over is obtained via dying in combat... in Cube's Chapter, Game Over is being killed... with no way to fight back. There are many ways to end up as scrap metal; and you've really gotta watch out in this chapter.
This game was recorded via Emulation, and using Movavi recorder.
