The last time I read this book was during the COVID shut down. It's was oddly nostalgic as there were nice enough days I was able to read outside just like in that odd far off time. I will also say, it's great reading these books in order, I was all over the place when I read these books the first time. It's fun to see a bit of a continuing narrative, as this is something rarely seen in the Bond movies.

I will say, it's really different reading this book after reading "Gone with the Wind". Both drop the N word constantly, as well as attempt a more colloquial way of speaking for characters of color. I struggled reading through such sections the first time, but after reading so much of it in "Gone with the Wind" it became much easier to understand. As for which book is more offensive, I'd give it to "Gone with the Wind". At least Ian just used the N word, Margrett used about every slur imaginable at the time.

I think I've covered everything else in the review, join me next time for "Moonraker"
