While this is probably my favorite of the books, I will say it's disappointing that Smersh is not here. It's interesting, as the first 2 Bond movies had S.P.E.C.T.R.E. in them, with the 3rd skipping out on that. This one is a bit of a difficult one to compare to it's film counter part as they are 2 very different stories. The book is a mystery about Sir Hugo Drax, the head of an important missile project called "Moonraker". The movie is about the conquest of space with several space ships all named "Moonraker". I will say this, if they ever wanted to go for a hard reboot in the movie series, I'd say have them create a movie authentic to this book. In the modern era it's hard to have a villain, as they can hide in cyberspace spoofing their location all over the world. In going back to the cold war, you have countries that support communism as the villains. Plus there is always that risk of the 2 factions blowing up the planet with atomic weapons. So yeah, I love this book. I hope you will join me next time for "Diamonds are Forever"
