LOH LA Noire and Shadows of the Damned Reviews
L.A. Noire 360 P9D7G7S8T7.75
This game just oozes with style and atmosphere. They really nailed the whole noire vibe and atheistic. The character facial animations are really stunning and cool to just watch. Gamplay wise though the game sucks when it does actions sequences like shooting, sneaking, driving and fighting. I actually forgot the controls for fighting once and had to skip it. Luckily you are allowed to skip the sequences if you fail the three times with no consequence, which is a system I quickly exploited. the detective work is where the game shines, you find clues and question people. You observe their facial ticks and stuff to gauge if they are lying and present the right evidence to get them to talk. I had difficulty with this and would often just believe everybody would be telling the truth. I eventually resigned myself to being the worst cop every because of this and enjoyed watching my character fumble through interrogations. The overall plot was good and I enjoyed the game mainly because you really couldn't lose. It is a better Heavy Rain for those wondering, and I enjoyed that game. Side note: I loved the fact that everybody in L.A. has marriage problems.

Early on this game reminded me of Bulletwitch. Its design it rather rigid and lacks any originality. The controls are sluggish and should have been a lot more fluid. The levels often lack any decent direction. It's basically an inferior Splatterhouse in ever regard. Its overreliance on crude humor and satire gets annoying real quick. Its "darkness" mechanic serves no propose other to aggravate. I only played this because of the game pedigree.
