First of all, open up your task manager and close all of the programs running in the background which you don't need.
Don't end any processes when you dont know what they do, otherwise you could srew yourself up.

Next navigate to the "autostart" tab and deactivate the programs you don't want to run on startup.
Now find the "LeagueClient.exe" process on the details tab. Right-click and set the priority to "High".
You can only do this when league of legends in running on your PC. This will make sure that the OS allocates more resources to the game than other programs.

If you haven't updated your operating system and graphics drivers for a while then this could make a big difference too.
