First of all, open up your command prompt by searching for CMD. Here type "ping google.com" to check your latency and package loss to google's servers.
If you're on a mac then use www.speedtest.net.
Next, open up your task manager and head to the "Resource Monitor" as you can see in the video.
On this new window navigate to the "Network" tab and on this first section end all of the processes you don't need and know wont screw you up. For example, your browser running in the background or steam and discord.
Now that this is done, go back to your comand prompt and use the command line "ipconfig /flushdns" to flush and reset the content
of the dns resolver cache. This should be the most effective way to improve your latency.
Lastly, search for %temp%. This folder will contain all of the temporary files saved by programs which you no longer need.
You can safely delete all of the files in this folder. Some files will remain so just leave them there.
Other than that you should make sure to play on an ethernet connection and if you still have ping issues then try out another
server location.
