This is the longplay of the game Sol-Feace, a horizontal-scrolling shooter game released for the X68000, Sega Genesis and Sega CD, developed and published by Wolfteam. This is Sega CD version.
The plot of the game takes place in the distant year 3300, when human technology is so advanced that it was possible to create a super computer with Artificial Intelligence known as GCS-WT. The apparatus that was built to help humanity ends up becoming a powerful digital dictator, who begins to dominate all machines and military power, enslaving humanity.
A scientist named Edwin Feace, planned to penetrate the security code of the GCS-WT, and destroy its database. Humans will have 300 hours to act while the GCS-WT tries to recover from the destruction of its database. The last hope for humans is to reach planet Earth, where the inoperable GCS-WT is located, and destroy this artificial life form.
For this mission, the two best pilots in the galaxy were chosen, Eric and Misao, who will pilot the spacecraft “Sol-Feace”, specially designed and prepared for the journey that awaits them.
The objective of the game is basically to attack enemies with shots, while dodging enemy shots. The ship can assume various aiming positions, from shooting in a straight line as well as diagonals (diagonal up, down and both) and steering is done while the ship is moving, but the position can be locked by holding a button on the control while shooting, allowing you to control the direction you want to shoot. It sounds strange, but it works. There are power ups, however unfortunately they are not very varied and seem a bit random. The game also features anime cutscenes and story narration, in addition to the excellent soundtrack by Motoi Sakuraba. The video was made on the Mania level.
