271Some after class sparring this month. I was trying to get some plunging cuts on film against noncompliant opposition for a new entry in my "Short Edge Oberhau" series. (I'm still regretting how that became the series' name). I've also been continuing my work on obscuring my first intention by continually moving the sword on the approach. I'm still zeroing in the range, as it becomes riskier the closer you get, but I can feel the difference in how my sparring partners respond to the changers - their increased uncertainty. It's a useful tool.
