My Nuzlocke Rules:

- If a Pokémon faints, it’s dead.
- I can only catch the first encounter of each area. Gift Pokémon and in-game trades don’t count as an encounter or a catch.
- If my first encounter for that location is from the same evolutionary line as a previously caught Pokémon, I may choose to disregard that encounter and try again.
- I must nickname every Pokémon I catch.
- If I encounter a shiny or Legendary/Mythical, I can catch it.
- I must play on Set mode.
- The run doesn’t start until I get Poké Balls.
- I can use unlimited Rare Candies before Rival, Gym Leader, Elite Four, Champion, or any other important fight like Giovanni. I can’t exceed the next trainer’s highest level Pokémon this way. If I happen to level up past that during the battle, that’s okay. I’m allowed to be overleveled for regular trainers, I just can’t use Rare Candies to breeze through them.
- If I add a Pokémon to my team, I can use Rare Candies to make the new Pokémon’s level on par with the rest of the team.
- I can sell Rare Candies, but only to buy expensive items like TMs and Game Corner Pokémon. I can only buy one of each Game Corner Pokémon this way. I may occasionally decide to stock up on healing items by selling Rare Candies, but it will probably be rare.
- If I white out, I must delete my save and start over. (This rule may be subject to change depending on how I feel or how far the run has progressed. If this rule changes, I’ll most likely decide the fainted Pokémon are still unusable.)
- I will avoid using items in battle, but this may change if the battle is actually unwinnable without them.
- If I intentionally reset during a battle, all the Pokémon in my party are considered to have fainted, making it a white out.
- These rules are subject to change, though I will try my best to avoid changing them. This run is all about having fun while still presenting a challenge, so I may change the rules in order to preserve the fun.
