Read this before trying: Either get a USB stick or Upload your save to the cloud after the red ring in the upper left hand corner is done spinning in case you accidentally mess up.

Step 01: When you get to this specific save crystal in the catacombs (you can get there early by trading in Yetka's dagger for the key prior to facing the 2nd boss) Make note of the save crystal near her, as this is the one we will use later. Open the depicted Box.

Step 02: Let your new best friend murder you without touching the treasure.

Step 03: Pick up the damn shard. If done correctly it should still be floating there. Do not pick up the 2nd shard or that is all you are getting. You can do this 8 times, and then the crystal becomes unable to be picked up.

Step 04: To reset the box to continue being a dirty cheater leave this area completely. If you haven't forced a load screen you are doing it wrong. Touch the nearest crystal on the new map (eg outside of the catacombs, jump over the enemy, turn right and go to the top floor, you can see it from there). Open the menu and quit to title screen.

Step: 05: Return to the Catacombs, and touch the save crystal depicted in the video. Have bestie kill you again BEFORE touching the crystal for your 9th item. You may now get another 8 items.

Step 06: Rinse and Repeat. Don't use the Shards on your HP first, because otherwise it makes the dying part take longer and this is tedious enough as it is. In fact you shouldn't use them at all if you are trying to Platinum the game because your EXP requirement for the next level will increase each time making it perhaps impossible to continue leveling on your current run.

If you are going to do it, be in the mood to abuse it for a long time, as there are very few of these items in chests. Putting my PS5 into rest mode did not seem to affect my ability to continue getting free stuff. But yeah if a power outage happens you have to restart.

Pro-Tip: Sometimes you will not be able to pick up the shard from certain angles, its really annoying actually. Kill your bestie if you must, break the benches near the chest and go to the left or right of it to be able to grab the shard (you can't grab it anymore after 8 items so this should be your cue to go back to step 04) and let someone else nearby kill you. Repeat Ad Nauseam. Remember if the crystal is still floating there, you didn't mess it up.
