Lords of the Fallen Walkthrough and Review(Description)Part 3-KJS
It feels that the purpose of this game is to gradually convince you to stop playing it. It has an amazing start, over the top even. The kind of start that gets you thinking " Man I'm definitely going to play again after I finish, look at how many gameplay routes I can take. I can't wait...".
But when the most interesting bosses are exhausted at the beginning of the game, and the only difficulty left is how much of a stat bag each mob and boss can be, the fun is extinguished from the game. No point in having daggers if the only gameplay choice they give you is "Fight the boss for longer". The spells I don't really get, they don't seem that impactful, the prayer spell is almost the same for all class and most of them seem to have a buffing result. Which means you also need some stats to benefit from them. Since the game makes you choose to upgrade stats or spells.... well you can start to figure out how useful they can really get in your first playthrough.
I know this game gets compared with Souls games, and considering there are direct references from Dark Souls I in the game it is not a surprise. I feel it would have had a much better chance of being its own thing because compared to any soul game I don't see in what aspect Lords of The Fallen excels. If you want to try this game out, I would go in it with an open mind and a lot of patience. Not grit, not skill, not willing to learn new mechanics, everything is fairly simple to understand from the get go. Just patience to grind every mob and boss down chip by chip.
Was left dissapointed on how the game progressed and I felt almost no interest in playing it again. I hope developers will be able to learn from their mistake because if there was ever a game that oozed potential it is Lords of The Fallen.
