And so it begins... again... for the sixth time... ;)

We're kicking off the new season of Ancient DOS Games with Lords of the Realm II, a strategy game developed by Impressions Games and published through Sierra On-Line in 1996.

Curiously, unlike most strategy games which get MORE complex with each iteration, this game's actually almost identical to its predecessor in terms of gameplay, yet has been streamlined and simplified to a degree, making it LESS complex and more approachable for the average player. Also the graphics have received a massive upgrade and all of the music is fully digitized!

Additional Information and Corrections:

* If you wish to grab the game from GOG, follow this link: https://www.gog.com/game/lords_of_the_realm_royal_edition/?pp=91dfde1d6e005e422f64a59776234f1f4c80b5e4

* If you instead wish to grab the game on Steam, follow this link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/397350/Lords_of_the_Realm_II/

* There were a couple bugs I ran into while playing which I didn't mention because I couldn't rule out the emulation being the problem. The first was that I was occasionally getting multiple clicks when using the menus, which actually resulted in overwriting my save game from the campaign with a skirmish battle, so I didn't quite feel like going back through that. The other is that the mouse was way more sensitive on the horizontal axis than the vertical. Again, these might just be emulation issues, thus why I didn't elaborate on them in the video.

* One other important point I failed to mention: When adjusting the sliders you'll sometimes see a blue outline show up around something. This indicates that more people are allocated to a task than are required for maximum efficiency, thus indicating you should adjust the slider to optimize things better, or use the town view to manually adjust things.
