OK, so I've nearly put ten hours into this demo and have basically nothing to show for it. The boss battle is just far too difficult for the party. The enemy outnumber you including reinforcements which means they are performing a lot more attacks than you per turn. They hit as hard and I don't think they obey any cooldown rules. Then you multiply everything by two because whenever an enemy is downed, they revive as an undead with exactly the same skills, powers, health, and damage output. Plus, they spawn and attack straight away, you get literally no benefit from defeating the human enemies. If you put your soldier into defend stance, the enemy just says "okay, we'll just run past you" and then gang bash another of your units. In fact, if the game wants to kill any of your party there is nothing you can do to stop it. Even at full health, a unit will fall within two or three attacks. At the beginning of each run, all your characters start from zero. Upgrades are small enough to be insignificant. A few extra hitpoints means nothing when the enemy is taking 30 to 40 per hit and +1 attack or defence won't save the day. What the game will do is try to throw you an item after you have failed, so you could just keep going in circles until maybe the game gives you a game changing item? You will not get better as a player, you will not learn anything, the game doesn't reward player skill. It will all come down to the games random drops, (scripted) random luck, and hoping the game throws you a magic bullet.
