Apart from the many good parts of the game, overall there are three factors that will determine whether you will keep playing this long-term. Firstly, your units pathfinding is not the best (I've seen one get stuck) and they do not always take the shortest path to their target which is a huge issue. Secondly, there are environmental buffs, but the location designs seem rigged and you cannot take full advantage of said buffs. So, instead of having freedom to incorporate your own strategies or tactics, the game forces you to play in a way that you might not want to. Thirdly, the game is also based on randomness; you research items, but then have to find them during the run. You can get implants to upgrade your characters, but you can only choose from three random choices given to you by the game. And half the time what you want won't be available.
